Meeting Christian Andersen in Central Park

Standard

One of my favorite stop-over in Central Park is where Christian Andersen reads on the bench with a duckling beside him. When the weather is warm, kids gather here to listen to fairy tales. The kids love to climb the sculpture, which is made by Georg John Lober in 1956, and donated by Danish-American Women’s Association and Danish and American schoolchildren. The location of the sculpture is 74th Street near Fifth Avenue, west of Conservatory Water.
