Life is a meditation, and meditation is now.
Meditation can only happen now, not next hour, not tomorrow, not during a workshop, vacation or retreat. Meditation can take place anytime, anywhere. In fact, it can happen as you read this page, as noises arise and fade in your surroundings, as you breathe, as you move your hand. We can enter this meditative state any time, and make our daily life into a meditation practice.
To meditate doesn’t mean you have to sit somewhere quite with your eyes closed. Meditation can only happen now, not next hour, not tomorrow, not during a workshop, vacation or retreat. When you are fully aware of now, fully in the present moment, you are meditating. If not now, when? It is possible to do that any time, from where you are.
Although techniques are helpful, they are not required. A technique sometimes becomes a trap and binds us instead of freeing us. We can use any situation, or rather, allow it, to take us into meditation.
The birth of human form and the dissolution of human body are the beginning and end of a journey, and this journey is a meditation, is the art of living. Art is not something we make. Art is being in tune with the most pure and beautiful essence that is present in everyone, if we are aware enough to see it.
There is stillness in everyone, and we can connect with it through meditation. Through meditation, we can dissolve anxiety, depression and stress. When the heart is still and mind is clear, we feel alive and well. We are at ease, at peace, and we no longer need to think about what life is, whether life is a meditation. We will know that we are life and we are meditating now, always.
